Buckhannon Police Warn Residents of Text Message Scam

BUCKHANNON, WV: The Buckhannon Police Department received a report from a resident who received a text message request for their bank account information. The person sending the text indicated that they would send $5,100 to the resident’s account. This is a scam. As a reminder, do not give anyone your bank account information especially over the phone, text, or email.
