CITY OF BUCKHANNON CLERICAL POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
BUCKHANNON, WV: The City of Buckhannon is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Clerk, supporting operations within our municipal and utility office. This position plays a vital role in serving the public and ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of local government and utility services.
Primary Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Providing clerical and administrative support to departmental staff and management
- Responding to public inquiries in person, by phone, and via email in a courteous and professional manner
- Preparing, filing, and maintaining official documents, records, and reports
- Performing data entry, answering phones, and handling general office duties
- Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and walk in inclement weather
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting hourly rate: $15.00 (commensurate with skills and experience)
