Holiday Furtastic Elimination Dinner Raises Nearly $8,500 to Support Animal Care and Rescue
BUCKHANNON, WV – The inaugural Holiday Furtastic Elimination Dinner, held December 6 at the Event Center at Brushy Fork, raised nearly $8,500 to support local and regional animal care and rescue initiatives. Organizers presented a donation during the December 18 Buckhannon City Council meeting.
Event organizer Michelle Jack presented $2,071.25 to the City of Buckhannon for improvements to the Buckhannon Dog Park. Additional proceeds will benefit Luv 4 Animals and Weston Friends of Feral & Strays. Jack thanked co-organizer Elissa Mills and Councilwoman Pam Bucklew for their support.
The evening included dinner provided by The Whistle Stop and enjoyed strong community participation, with assistance from Upshur and Lewis County officials in boosting ticket sales. Top Dog sponsors included High Point Construction, The Whistle Stop, Serenity Assisted Living, and Sweet A Licious.
Organizers have already reserved the venue for next year’s event, scheduled for December 5, 2026.
