Buckhannon Police Department officers graduate from West Virginia Police Academy

BUCKHANNON, WV: On Friday, two Buckhannon Police Department officers graduated from the West Virginia Police Academy 176^th Basic Police Training Class. Angel McCauley and Donald “Sam” Kraemer received their graduation certificates at a ceremony in Institute, West Virginia near Charleston following successful completion of the 16-week course.

Kraemer and McCauley joined the Buckhannon Police Department in June of 2018. Kraemer, a former correctional officer at Central Regional Jail, moved to West Virginia from Texas. McCauley is a 2008 graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School and Army Reservist with the 363^rd and the 305^th military police company. Both McCauley and Kraemer volunteered with police departments before starting their careers as officers, McCauley as a member of VIPS (Volunteers in Police Service) and Kraemer with Palm Bay Police Explorers of Palm Bay, FL.

Buckhannon Police Chief, Matt Gregory, shared, “We’re very proud of the accomplishments of Ptlm. McCauley and Kraemer and look forward to their continued commitment to the department and the community.”
