Mayor Speaks At Memorial Day Observance

May 30, 2022, BUCKHANNON, WV: Mayor Robbie Skinner joined members of Buckhannon VFW Post 3663 and American Legion Post 7, who jointly hosted a Memorial Day observance on Sunday, May 29, 2022 in Heavner Cemetery.  Mayor Skinner delivered remarks centered on the importance of remembering the reason for Memorial Day noting that while it is a holiday that gives most people a day off from work, it is most importantly meant to be a day that we properly honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.  He also stressed the sacrifices that have been made by the Appalachia community including West Virginia and our own hometown of Buckhannon.  Leading the observance was Larry Brown, USMC, who was joined by the local VFW Post 3663/American Legion Post 7 Honor Guard.
