October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October 1, 2018
BUCKHANNON, WV: Each October, we take a moment to recognize all the women, and men, who have battled breast cancer, as well as the care providers at their side. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, women are encouraged to make use of resources available to learn about self breast exams and screening services. Early detection may make treatment and full recovery a possibility. On Monday, survivors, healthcare workers, and community members joined together to learn about the importance of regular breast exams and listen to stories from survivors. The City, County, and many other community organizations will display breast cancer awareness wreathes at their places of business to remind citizens to be vigilant against this disease and continue to support research for a cure. The luncheon and awareness campaign is organized by the Upshur County Extension Office. Thank you all for presenting this luncheon at Stockert Youth & Community Center.
