Monday, April 13
- Hydrant Flushing & Flow Testing Starts Monday Across Buckhannon – The City of Buckhannon Water Department will begin hydrant flushing and flow testing on Monday, April 13, 2026. Work will take place each weekday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. throughout the city water system and will continue until the flushing program is complete. This schedule does not include any public service districts. Residents are encouraged to check their water before doing any light‑colored laundry, as temporary discoloration may occur during flushing operations. Saturday, April 18
- Free Paper Shredding – A free paper shredding event is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Public Works Facility, 395 Mud Lick Road, Buckhannon, WV, sponsored by the Upshur County Solid Waste Authority. Residents can securely dispose of documents on-site.

- Trash Can Placement: Trash cans must be hidden from public view as much as possible during the week; place them at the curb the night before the collection and return them within 24 hours after the collection.

- Report Repairs or Concerns: To report issues such as potholes or damaged signs, please call City Hall during business hours to submit a work order or use our Citizen Engagement tool: Report a Concern.
