Bulky Goods Collection Begins at 5:30 AM
– Bulky goods collection for large items such as couches, chairs, mattresses, appliances, etc. (All Buckhannon Waste Department customers are allowed four (4) items per month and eight (8) tires per year.)   You must call by Wednesday, June 11, 2025, to schedule a pick-up.  Items must be at the curb by 5:30 AM on Friday to ensure pick-up.

Almost Heaven BBQ Bash – June 12 – 14, 2025 – Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Almost Heaven BBQ Bash the weekend of June 12-14, 2025, in and around Jawbone Park in downtown Buckhannon, WV.  This special celebration will feature some of the top-rated KCBS teams in the US preparing chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket for judging, artists and crafters, live entertainment, delicious BBQ, various other food vendors, family activities, and much more!  For all the information, visit: https://almostheavenbbqbash.com/



Updates Regarding Yard Waste Collection for City Residents
– Yard Waste (debris) will be collected from City of Buckhannon residents on the following dates: June 6, 2025, June 27, 2025, July 11, 2025, July 25, 2025, August 8, 2025, and August 22. 2025. Beginning September 1, 2025, it will be collected every Friday through November 30. Residents must contact Buckhannon City Hall to be placed on the collection list. City residents may take their bagged yard waste (debris) to the Transfer Station during normal operating hours free of charge, and may bring two truckloads to the Transfer Station per year, free of charge.

The City of Buckhannon is now accepting bids for Yard Reclamation Services.
 Bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, when they will be opened. Bid Information may be obtained at Buckhannon City Hall, 70 East Main Street, Buckhannon, WV 26201, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please direct all questions to Ethan Crosten, Director of Public Works at (304) 472-4443, ext. 1000. The City of Buckhannon has the right to reject any and all bids.

Festival Fridays in Jawbone Park—Create Buckhannon continues its summer season on Friday, June 20th, with the band Soda Pop Gypsies, whose style is variety. The opener for the evening (5:00 – 6:00 pm) is the Buckhannon Community Band.  Festival Fridays is a free, family-friendly community event hosted by Create Buckhannon. Enjoy live music, local food vendors, fresh produce, and various artisans and crafters. With children’s activities and entertainment for all ages, it’s the perfect way to celebrate summer in Buckhannon!

Pay Utility Bills Online or by Phone
 – To make an online payment for your utility bill, click here: https://www.municipalonlinepayments.com/buckhannonwv – To pay over the phone, call 1-866-933-4026.  Even if you do not wish to pay your bill using this method, you may still want to set up an account, which will allow you to monitor your consumption.  To sign up for this service, you will need to complete the online registration, which includes knowing your Utility Board Account Number (printed on your bill) and the last amount you paid. Once your account has been established, you must log in with the proper email and password.

Reporting a Necessary Repair or Registering a Concern with the City – To report a necessary repair, such as potholes, damaged street signs, an issue in a city park, etc., or any other matter that a city department should attend to, call City Hall during regular business hours and ask to submit a work order request, or report your concerns through our Citizens Engagement tool: https://buckhannonwv.portal.iworq.net/BUCKHANNON/new-request/700/3444.  This will speed up the reaction time to a matter that needs immediate attention.
