Stemples’ 75th Wedding Anniversary
MAYOR’S PROCLAMATION
Whereas, MR. & MRS. EARSEL STEMPLE of 42 Island Avenue in Buckhannon, West Virginia, were united in holy matrimony on September 6, 1944, & have been blessed to be married for 75 years during this upcoming week; and,
Whereas, EARSEL & his bride, MARDELL, reared three loving daughters together, being namely Sandra Bennett, Becky Jackson (husband Doug), & Melodie Stemple, (husband Scott); and,
Whereas, in addition to their loving children, the STEMPLES have two grandchildren, Steven & Sarah, & three great grandchildren, Zoe, Kayleigh, & Hallie; and,
Whereas, the STEMPLES have dedicated their long, hardworking, & wonderful lives together to their family, but also to enjoying many recreational activities including camping & sports, & especially baseball & football which they still avidly follow!; and,
Whereas, both of the STEMPLES have long been quality residents & valuable contributors to our high quality of life in our B-U community, MR. STEMPLE turning 95 in October, & MRS. STEMPLE having just turned 94 in July; and,
Whereas, the STEMPLES’ loving, family members & friends have organized a very special diamond wedding anniversary celebration for them on Sunday, September 1, 2019, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Buckhannon; and,
Whereas, our City now desires to recognize & honor our wonderful, Buckhannon residents, EARSEL & MARDELL STEMPLE for their amazing resiliency & longevity by bestowing upon them our City’s Diamond Wedding Anniversary Honor.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DAVID W. McCAULEY, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF BUCKHANNON, pursuant to the power & authority duly vested in me, do hereby proclaim Sunday, September 1, 2019 to be “EARSEL & MARDELL STEMPLE DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY DAY” throughout our City of Buckhannon.
To further memorialize the STEMPLES’ special day, I further now hereby present to them, the key to our City, & lapel pins as our City of Buckhannon’s most special gifts in celebration of their 75th wedding anniversary! May good health continue for our wonderful celebrants, EARSEL & MARDELL STEMPLE!
