City of Buckhannon to Observe Memorial Day on Monday, May 25

BUCKHANNON, WV — The City of Buckhannon will join communities across the nation in honoring the men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States during this year’s Memorial Day observance on Monday, May 25.

All City of Buckhannon offices, including the Transfer Station, will be closed in observance of the holiday.

The community is invited to attend the Honor Guard Memorial Day Ceremony at Heavner Cemetery, located at 503 Hall Road, Buckhannon, WV 26201. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Mayor Robbie Skinner will deliver a welcome message during the ceremony, reflecting on the significance of Memorial Day and the sacrifices made by generations of service members. City Recorder Randy Sanders will also be in attendance to represent the City’s leadership.

Residents are encouraged to take part in this solemn tradition of remembrance and gratitude.
