December 17, 2021, BUCKHANNON, WV:  At the regular City Council meeting, Thursday, December 17, 2021, Council approved the Call for Election On May 10, 2022 City of Buckhannon.  The presentation to Council follows:

A General Election for the City of Buckhannon is called to be held on the second Tuesday in May 2022, for the purpose of electing the following:

•             Two Council Members, at large, for Four (4) year terms
•             One Recorder, at large, for Four (4) year term

The voting locations are as follows:

Precinct 8            Buckhannon Academy Elementary School
Precinct 9            Buckhannon City Hall
Precinct 12          Fred W. Eberle Technical Center
Precinct 14          Buckhannon Academy Elementary School

Persons interested in filing for office may begin on Monday, January 10, 2022, in the office of the City Recorder at City Hall. The last date for candidates to file for the office in person is Saturday, January 29, 2022 between 9:00 am and noon, by US Mail must be postmarked by midnight Saturday, January 29, 2022.

The last date to withdraw from the election is Tuesday, February 15, 2022.

Drawing for position on the ballot will take place on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at the Upshur County Courthouse located in the County Clerk’s Office -40 West Main Street, Buckhannon, WV.

All candidates running for office must complete Campaign Financial Reports throughout the election process.

All voters must be registered and vote in the particular precinct in which they are registered.
