Additional Information

Severe Weather Alert
– The City of Buckhannon continues to experience rapidly changing winter weather conditions.  To assist in keeping our community safe, here are some actions we all can take when possible: During periods of snow, sleet, and rain, our crews work around the clock to keep Buckhannon moving. Residents can make a big impact by taking a few simple steps:

  • Clear sidewalks and walkways as conditions allow, and use salt or traction agents to reduce refreezing.
  • Avoid parking along plow routes when possible, use off-street parking so plow trucks have room to operate safely.
  • Do not push or blow snow into the street, as it creates hazards and slows down cleanup efforts.
  • Keep storm drains clear of slush, leaves, and ice to help prevent localized flooding during rain-on-snow events.
  • Check on neighbors who may need assistance with snow removal or safe access.

Your cooperation helps our crews work more efficiently and keeps our community safer during winter weather.
