Additional Information

Severe Weather Alert
– The City of Buckhannon continues to experience rapidly changing winter weather conditions and low temperatures.  To help keep our community safe, here are some actions we can all take when possible: During periods of snow, sleet, and rain, our crews work around the clock to keep Buckhannon moving. Residents can make a big impact by taking a few simple steps:

  • Clear sidewalks and walkways as conditions allow, and use salt or traction agents to reduce refreezing.
  • Avoid parking along plow routes when possible, use off-street parking so plow trucks have room to operate safely.
  • Do not push or blow snow into the street, as it creates hazards and slows down cleanup efforts.
  • Keep storm drains clear of slush, leaves, and ice to help prevent localized flooding during rain-on-snow events.
  • Check on neighbors who may need assistance with snow removal or safe access.

Your cooperation helps our crews work more efficiently and keeps our community safer during winter weather.
