Gold Star Living Tribute Rose Garden Visited by VFW National President of the VFW Auxiliary
BUCKHANNON, WV – City Recorder Randy Sanders joined Carey Wagner, President of VFW Post 3663 Auxiliary, in welcoming Lois Callahan of Little Rock, Arkansas, National President of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) Auxiliary, on Wednesday, May 12, at the Gold Star Mothers Rose Garden in Jawbone Park.
Each year, the National Auxiliary President visits every state. This year, President Callahan selected Buckhannon’s Rose Garden as her West Virginia stop, timed with the West Virginia Strawberry Festival.
On behalf of Mayor Robbie Skinner and the Buckhannon City Council, Recorder Sanders presented President Callahan with a Key to the City, recognizing her leadership, service to veterans and their families, and her visit to the Buckhannon community.
