BUCKHANNON, WV: At Buckhannon City Hall on Friday, Mayor David McCauley led Colin Reger in the oath of office as incoming City Recorder, formalizing his victory in the recent election held on May 8. Mr. Reger is President and Chief Executive Officer of Monco Constructors, Inc. and resides in Buckhannon with his family. He has served for the past year on the Buckhannon Waste Board.

In addition to representatives from the City and press, Mr. Reger was joined by his family: wife, Jessica, daughter, Ellie, son, Keegan, father, Jack, and mother, Charla. The Mayor welcomed Reger aboard and thanked him for joining the Waste Board when asked last year, appreciating his perspective as a member of the business community.

After signing the oath of office, Reger shared that he is looking forward to the next four years and hopes to see long-term, sustainable business development expand within the corporate limits.

The City Recorder is second-in-line to the mayor, should circumstances prevent them from serving out their term. By charter, the Recorder is responsible for a lengthy set of diverse responsibilities from purchasing, correspondence, to recordkeeping and documentation. However, as the position is paid just $9,000 per year and is often held by someone with additional employment responsibilities, the Assistant Recorder, Amberle Jenkins, and City staff execute much of the workload under direction from the Recorder when appropriate.
