Buckhannon Police Department Issues News Release – RE: March 15, 2024 Activity

BUCKHANNON, WV: On March 15, 2024, at approximately 10:36 PM, Buckhannon City Police officers responded to a shooting complaint in Zickefoose Trailer Court. Upon arrival, witnesses stated they heard multiple gunshots in the area. A subsequent investigation by the officers determined that Eli Jacob Beckner, while in an intoxicated condition, fired multiple .45 caliber rounds outside and behind his trailer located within Zickefoose Trailer Court.  At this point of the investigation, there is no indication that Mr. Beckner was shooting at anyone in particular

No injuries were reported and Mr. Beckner was taken into custody without incident. He is being charged with wanton endangerment.
