City celebrates with Hazel Davidson on her 101st Birthday!

Hazel Davidson celebrates 101 years with family and friends; the mayor added to the fun with an official proclamation recognizing her accomplishments.

MAYOR’S PROCLAMATION

Whereas, MRS. HAZEL DAVIDSON, a resident of the Buckhannon Manor, was born on August 11, 1918, & thus just turned 101 years old; and, 

Whereas, MRS. DAVIDSON & her late husband, Clay, reared their six children in our Buckhannon-Upshur community, being Jack, Robert, Craig, Marilyn, Avis, & Patty; and,

Whereas, in addition to her loving children, MRS. DAVIDSON has 12 grandchildren & too many great-grandchildren to count!; and,

Whereas, MRS. DAVIDSON has dedicated her long & wonderful life to being a loving housewife & mother, but also worked as an election poll worker, & has long been a quality resident & valuable contributor to our high quality of life in our B-U community; and, 

Whereas, MRS. DAVIDSON’s friends & family members have organized a very special birthday celebration for her today, August 13, featuring lunch at Sam’s Pizza & an amazing birthday cake prepared by Fish Hawk Acres; and, 

Whereas, our City now desires to recognize & honor MRS. DAVIDSON for her amazing resiliency & longevity by bestowing upon her our City’s Centenarian Award.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DAVID W. McCAULEY, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF BUCKHANNON, pursuant to the power & authority duly vested in me, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, August 13, 2019 to be “MRS. HAZEL DAVIDSON DAY” throughout our City of Buckhannon. 

To further memorialize MRS. DAVIDSON’S special day, I further now hereby present to her, the key to our City, & a lapel pin as Buckhannon’s most special gifts in celebration of her 101st birthday!  May good health continue for our wonderful celebrant, MRS. HAZEL DAVIDSON!
