City proclaims October 23 – 27 Red Ribbon Week
BUCKHANNON, WV: Buckhannon Mayor Robbie Skinner proclaimed Oct. 23-27 as National Red Ribbon Week throughout the City of Buckhannon on Thursday morning.
Skinner was joined by Upshur County Schools counselors and students at City Hall for the ceremony.

According to the proclamation, Red Ribbon Week “encourages citizens to participate in drug prevention activities” to make a visible statement that the town is strongly committed to West Virginia becoming as healthy and drug-free as possible.
Locally, the Red Ribbon campaign offers citizens the chance to demonstrate their commitment to a healthy lifestyle, including abstaining from drugs and alcohol.
