Federal Disaster Assistance Announcement

Buckhannon, WV — August 4, 2026 – City and County officials have reviewed the following news release from FEMA regarding federal assistance now available to residents of Upshur County affected by the July 21–22 severe weather event.

Upcoming FEMA Presence in Upshur County

FEMA representatives will be arriving in Upshur County soon to meet with residents, assist with applications, and help document storm‑related losses. FEMA and state officials are currently coordinating locations in Buckhannon where residents will be able to speak with personnel directly.

We will announce the exact location and hours as soon as FEMA confirms them.
