National Red Ribbon Campaign Receives Mayor’s Proclamation

October 21, 2021, BUCKHANNON, WV:  Mayor Robbie Skinner welcomed local representatives of the Red Ribbon Campaign, which began in 1985 and has touched the lives of millions of people around the world, to City Hall today.  The Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.  The National Family Partnership (NFP) and its network of individuals and organizations continue to deliver his message of hope to millions of people every year, through the National Red Ribbon Campaign™. Joining Mayor Skinner in Council Chambers today were Suzanne Bohman, Carla McCoy, Larry Lance, Ashley Woody, Kirsten Coit-Fetty, Anthony McDaniels, Hope Hickman, Danielle Rexroad, and City Recorder Randy Sanders.

The proclamation declares October 25 – 29, 2021, as Red Ribbon Week and encourages its citizens to participate in drug prevention education activities, making a visible statement that we are strongly committed to a healthy, drug free state.
