Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting – 5:30 PM – Notice is hereby given that Sidney Phillips, Number One Auto Sales Inc., has filed with the Zoning Board of Appeals an appeal to construct a 138’x45’ Service Garage located at 42 North Locust Street in the City of Buckhannon. Sidney Phillips, Number One Auto Sales Inc. has been denied a permit since the application fails to meet Zoning Ordinance 244, Section 507C-4 which states in part, “ Side yards requirement- Twenty feet (20’) total; Eight feet (8’) minimum per side.” A Public Hearing in connection with the petition shall be held at City Hall, 70 East Main Street on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., and all interested parties may appear and be heard. Job Openings with the City of Buckhannon:
Clerical Position -The City of Buckhannon is currently accepting applications for one clerical position. The successful applicant(s) must be able to lift 50 pounds and walk in inclement weather. Office duties include data entry, answering phones, filing, assisting customers, and general office duties. Hourly rate starting at $13.00 per hour with benefits. This is dependent on skills. Candidates having additional knowledge of CADD or GIS software is an advantage. Applicant must be 18 or older with a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Applicants will be subject to skills testing, drug screening, and a background check.

Pipe Layer/Laborer -The City of Buckhannon Sanitary Department is accepting applications until February 2, 2024, for the position of a full-time pipe layer/laborer in the Buckhannon Sanitary/Stormwater Department. Candidates must:
● Be 18 years of age or older.
● Possess a valid WV Class A or Class B commercial driver’s license.
● Possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
● Be in good physical condition. This job includes, but is not limited to lifting between
50-100 lbs. regularly.
● Willing to work in confined spaces and in inclement weather
Eligible candidates will be subject to a background check and drug test. Hourly rate starts at $13.00 per hour depending on education, skills, and qualifications.
