Rest in Peace and Honor, Fire Chief Larry Mackey

Retired Buckhannon Fire Chief, Larry Mackey, was laid to rest on Friday, January 10, 2020. In honoring Chief Mackey, the funeral procession passed under a ceremonial arch, known as Crossed Ladders, created by the Buckhannon Fire Department Truck 11 and the Elkins Fire Department’s ladder truck before proceeding on to the burial at Heavner Cemetery.
The funeral procession approaches the Crossed Ladders, led by the Buckhannon Police Department.
The Fire Engine Caisson carries the casket to Heavner Cemetery following the funeral service at Poling St. Clair Funeral Home.
Buckhannon Fire Department members salute Chief Mackey and the procession. Additional Buckhannon Fire Department members served as pallbearers, including current Fire Chief J.B. Kimble.
The Buckhannon Fire Engine Caisson carries Chief Mackey under the ceremonial Crossed Ladders before proceeding to Heavner Cemetery for the burial.
