The Annual WV Strawberry Festival Is BACK In Full Swing
May 20, 2022, BUCKHANNON, WV: The 80th Annual West Virginia Strawberry Festival is in full swing and, once again, proving to be one of West Virginia’s premier events. City, County and State Officials have been participating in the celebration and give the “all volunteer” group of organizers high marks for their tireless efforts.
Mayor Robbie Skinner delivered the Official Welcome to the City at the Opening Ceremonies on Wednesday, May 18th; later that day he joined Buckhannon Police Chief Matthew Gregory for the Fifth Annual, Webb Grubb Police Officer Recognition Day by honoring former Buckhannon Police Officer David Coffman; then he presented the Keys to the City to both King Franklin Bush, Jr and Queen Kelsey Hill at their Official Coronation held at Wesley Chapel on the Campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College. King Franklin was crowned by West Virginia Commissioner of Agriculture Kent Leonhardt and Queen Kelsey was crowned by West Virginia’s First Lady, Cathy Justice. Each were “Sworn In’, by Upshur County Commission President, Kristie Tenney.
Festivities have continued non-stop and the City of Buckhannon invites you to participate in all of the remaining activities. For a complete schedule for the West Virginia Strawberry Festival, click here: https://wvstrawberryfestival.com/
