Monday, May 11

•     WV Strawberry Festival – Window displays continue along Main Street, and the Festival Gift Shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tuesday, May 12

  • WV Strawberry Festival – The Food Court opens from 4 to 10 p.m. at Jawbone Park. Family Fun Night runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at the WVWC Courtyard, with children’s activities beginning around 5:30. Live entertainment continues at Jawbone Park from 6 to 10 p.m., and the BUHS Spring Choir Concert begins at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, May 13

  • WV Strawberry Festival – The Food Court is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with live entertainment from 5 to 10 p.m. The Carnival opens at 6 p.m., and the Disc‑Connected K9 Show begins at 7 p.m. near the Stockert Youth & Community Center.

Thursday, May 14

  • Water Board Meeting – 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. – Attend in person or join virtually using this link or by calling (872) 240-3212, access code 234-619-757.
  • WV Strawberry Festival – Festival exhibits open at 9 a.m., including the Quilt Show, Art Show, Craft Show, and Photo Exhibit. The Junior Royalty Parade steps off at 6 p.m. on Strawberry Lane, followed by awards and an after‑party at Jawbone Park. The Disc‑Connected K9 Show begins at 8:30 p.m., and (Concert Alert) a band from Italy, “Banda Musicale Puccini Cave” presents a live performance at the Colonial Arts Center – 9:00 PM.
  • City of Buckhannon Downtown Parking & Street Closure Notice – Main Street will have temporary no-parking zones and street closures 5–8 PM 

Friday, May 15

  • WV Strawberry Festival – Field competitions begin at 9 a.m., with festival exhibits open throughout the day. Afternoon events at Courthouse Plaza include the Sweetest Berry Contest at 2 p.m., the Crowning of the Lord and Lady at 2:15, and the Strawberry & Basket Auction at 3 p.m. The Firemen’s Parade begins at 6 p.m. on Strawberry Lane, followed by post‑parade activities downtown. Evening entertainment includes Strawberry Idol at 8:30 and (Concert Alert) Tyler Reese Tritt at 9 p.m.
  • City of Buckhannon Downtown Parking & Street Closure Notice – Main Street will have temporary no-parking zones and street closures from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Saturday, May 16

  • WV Strawberry Festival – Morning exhibits open at 9 a.m., with the Strawberry Mile beginning at noon. The Classic Car Parade begins at 12:30, followed by the Grand Feature Parade at 1 p.m. Post‑parade awards and activities will be held at Jawbone Park. Irish Road Bowling begins at 4 p.m., and evening entertainment includes (Concert Alert) KC Bruner at 7:30 and Parmalee at 9 p.m.
  • City of Buckhannon Downtown Parking & Street Closure Notice – Main Street will have temporary no-parking zones and street closures from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m.

Sunday, May 17

  • WV Strawberry Festival – Sunday events include the Strawberry Car Show at noon on Main Street, live music at Jawbone Park from 12 to 3 p.m., and the Gospel Sing at 3 p.m. Closing Ceremonies will be held at Jawbone Park at 5 p.m.
  • City of Buckhannon Downtown Parking & Street Closure Notice – Main Street will have temporary no-parking zones and street closures from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • May 14 Banda Musicale Puccini Cave from Italy, will present a concert at 9:00 p.m., following the Junior Royalty Parade
  • May 21 – Buckhannon Songwriters Meeting (Free Monthly Workshop) from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Reminders:

  • Trash Can Placement: Trash cans must be hidden from public view as much as possible during the week; place them at the curb the night before the collection and return them within 24 hours after the collection.
  • Utility Bill Payments: Pay utility bills online at Municipal Online Payments or by phone at 1-866-933-4026. Setting up an account allows you to monitor your consumption.
  • Report Repairs or Concerns: To report issues such as potholes or damaged signs, please call City Hall during business hours to submit a work order or use our Citizen Engagement tool: Report a Concern.
